Once again, St Aidan’s students and staff are celebrating a successful year with fantastic GCSE outcomes. Many students have achieved a suit of the highest grades 8 and 9 and many more have made incredible progress by outperforming their targets in a whole host of subjects. The number of students gaining a standard pass in both English and Maths has increased from last year and from the pre-pandemic benchmark results from 2019 with over 72% of students achieving this. This continues to be well above the national average.
Headteacher, Siân Dover said, “the work that students and staff have put in and the support from all the parents and carers has really paid off. The results the school has achieved is very well deserved. We are thrilled for all our young people as they move on to the next stage of their education”.
The school had some excellent individual successes with nearly 20% of students gaining grade 7’s and above (the old grade A pass). Some students who faced difficulties in their personal lives over the past few years have done incredibly well. Mrs Dover went on to say, “this is a very proud day for the school and we wish to thank everyone for the support, commitment and dedication to the students at St Aidan’s”.
