On Friday 17 November, we marked Children in Need Day 2023.
Students in Year 7-11 were invited to come in non-uniform in return for a donation. Meanwhile our Sixth Form entertained the whole school with their varied and hilarious fancy dress costumes! They were ‘off timetable’ for period 5 so could play football on the 3G, play board games in the Café or take part in a Kahoot.
In the build up to Friday’s fun and games, Senate held an auction in the Café where amazing prizes could be bid for. These included vouchers for local cafes, a signed programme from the semi-final of the Rugby World Cup, having control of the music in the Café for a week, front of the lunch queue passes for a week, a reserved window seat in the library and the most popular one was a minibus ride for 16 with, Deputy Director of Sixth Form, Mrs Orton to Knaresborough McDonalds (with free chips thrown in)!
The total amount raised is still being counted but is over £3000! We will be dividing all proceeds between BBC Children in Need and Wellspring.
